An exceptional vocal-symphonic concert at the Banatul Philharmonic Timișoara on Friday, June 21, in an evening that will bring on the same stage the artists of the “Remus Georgescu” Symphony Orchestra and the “Ion Românu” Choir of the Banatul Philharmonic Timișoara. Soloists will be soprano KATERINA VON BENNIGSEN and mezzo soprano LAUREN DECKER. The event features STEFAN GEIGER, guest principal conductor for the 2023-2024 season. The choir is prepared by Maestro IOSIF TODEA. On the program: Symphony No. 2, one of Gustav Mahler’s most famous symphonies. Also known as the Resurrection Symphony, the work was composed between 1888-1894 and first performed in 1895, representing Mahler’s vision of the beauty of the afterlife and the resurrection.
